Data Protection

Available Roles: Workspace admin, Owner Platforms: Web, Mac, Windows, Linux Reviewed: 2026-03-14

Data protection in Hyper is not only about the live meeting. It also covers the artifacts the meeting creates, how long they live, where they can be shared, and what happens when they should be deleted or restricted.

  • How long transcripts, summaries, recordings, and notes should persist.
  • Which artifacts are visible to participants, teams, guests, or admins.
  • Which exports or integrations are allowed to move meeting data into other systems.
  • Define retention by meeting class instead of one rule for every meeting.
  • Separate guest access from artifact visibility so external participants do not inherit broad recap access accidentally.
  • Review downstream systems such as Slack and Notion as part of the same policy, not as an afterthought.
