Recording

Preview Roles: Host, Co-host Platforms: Web, Mac, Windows, Linux Reviewed: 2026-03-14

Recording is for meetings that need an exact replayable artifact in addition to summaries and transcripts. Treat recording as part of the meeting’s policy surface, not only a convenience feature, because it changes how people experience privacy, retention, and follow-up.

Recordings are strongest when reviewed alongside summary, transcript, and sharing controls instead of as a detached file.

  • Confirm the meeting type and policy allow recording.
  • Make sure hosts know who can start, stop, view, and export recordings.
  • Decide where recording should fit in the recap workflow so teams do not rely on it as the only follow-up path.
  1. Start recording from the in-call controls if your role allows it.
  2. Continue the meeting normally while transcript and recap data are captured in parallel.
  3. Review recording visibility and export controls after the meeting ends.

The recording exists but not everyone can see it

  • Check artifact permissions instead of assuming participant membership implies recording access.
  • Review whether the recording was shared into another system with a different audience.
