iOS
Use Hyper on iPhone or iPad when you need to join quickly, handle basic host actions, or review follow-up while away from a desktop. This page explains what the iOS client is good at, what to check before a meeting, and where mobile limits still matter.
Before the meeting
Section titled “Before the meeting”- Grant microphone, camera, and notification permissions before the meeting starts.
- Reconfirm the correct headset, speaker, or Bluetooth route after switching audio devices.
- Keep the app updated if your team relies on mobile host actions or recap access.
Best uses
Section titled “Best uses”- Join quickly from links, workspace home, or upcoming meetings.
- Manage basic host and participant actions while away from the desktop client.
- Review recap artifacts or search results when you need quick follow-up on mobile.
What differs from desktop
Section titled “What differs from desktop”- Mobile prioritizes join, live controls, and quick recap access over dense multi-panel workflows.
- Some advanced settings and side-by-side layouts are easier to manage on desktop or web.
- OS permission handling and audio routing can differ significantly by device and headset.
Notifications and background behavior
Section titled “Notifications and background behavior”- Meeting reminders and follow-up visibility depend on both workspace settings and iOS notification permissions.
- If you move between apps during a meeting, confirm the microphone, camera, and audio route still match what you expect when you return.
- Longer recap editing and dense admin workflows are still better on desktop or web.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”I joined, but the wrong audio device is active
Section titled “I joined, but the wrong audio device is active”- Re-open the device controls after connecting or disconnecting Bluetooth hardware.
- Switch back to the intended speaker or headset before assuming the meeting itself is unstable.
- If routing keeps changing, test once without the accessory to separate iOS routing from call-quality issues.
The app can open the workspace but not show camera or microphone
Section titled “The app can open the workspace but not show camera or microphone”- Check iOS privacy permissions for the Hyper app.
- Retry from the original meeting link after enabling the permission.
- If the device still blocks media access, restart the app before rejoining the meeting.
