Join a Meeting
Joining is intentionally simple, but the actual entry flow still depends on meeting policy. A link may take you straight into the call, into the lobby, or into a waiting room depending on guest access, workspace rules, and host controls.

Entry should confirm device readiness, access policy, and guest handling before the participant crosses into the live room.
When to use this page
Section titled “When to use this page”- You need to explain what participants should expect after they click a Hyper link.
- You support mixed host, member, and guest audiences joining from different devices.
- You need a clear explanation of the difference between joining, waiting, and being admitted.
Before you join
Section titled “Before you join”- Confirm you are signed into the correct workspace if the meeting is restricted to members.
- Check microphone and camera permissions before the meeting start time.
- Keep the meeting link, ID, or invite open so you can retry quickly if the network or browser prompt interrupts entry.
Join methods
Section titled “Join methods”Join from a shared link
Section titled “Join from a shared link”- Open the Hyper link from the invite, chat message, or calendar event.
- Sign in if the meeting requires workspace identity.
- Review your name, microphone, camera, and output device in the lobby.
- Join immediately or wait for admission, depending on meeting policy.
Join from workspace home
Section titled “Join from workspace home”- Open the relevant workspace.
- Use the upcoming meeting card or quick join action.
- Open prep if you need the agenda, previous notes, or summary context before entering.
Join by meeting ID
Section titled “Join by meeting ID”- Choose Join a meeting from workspace home or the app shell.
- Paste the meeting link or enter the meeting ID.
- Confirm your identity and device state, then enter the lobby or meeting.
Access behavior
Section titled “Access behavior”Open meetings
Section titled “Open meetings”- Participants with the link can usually enter immediately unless the host enables a waiting room.
Restricted meetings
Section titled “Restricted meetings”- Entry can be limited to workspace members, specific teams, approved emails, or admitted guests.
- Invite links do not bypass the access rules set on the meeting itself.
Waiting room behavior
Section titled “Waiting room behavior”- Guests, or everyone, can be held in a waiting room until a host or co-host admits them.
- Participants should keep the join page open until they are admitted.
Troubleshooting

Section titled “I clicked the link and got stuck in the lobby”- Check whether the host enabled a waiting room for guests or everyone.
- Confirm you are signed into the expected workspace account if the meeting is restricted.
- Retry from the original invite after reconnecting your network if the join state looks stale.
My camera or microphone is blocked before I can enter
Section titled “My camera or microphone is blocked before I can enter”- Re-open browser or OS permissions and allow access for the current app or browser.
- Re-select the intended microphone and camera in the lobby before joining.
- Join audio-only first if the meeting is urgent and finish troubleshooting after entry.
