Participants and Lobby

Available Roles: Host, Co-host, Participant Platforms: Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android Reviewed: 2026-03-14

The People panel and lobby together give the meeting a live roster: who has arrived, who is waiting, who is presenting, and who needs moderation. This is the page to use when the meeting’s participant flow matters as much as the content itself.

The participant list should expose roles, activity, and quick moderation actions without burying the live roster.

  • Shows who is in the meeting right now.
  • Surfaces role labels such as host or co-host.
  • Highlights key activity such as speaking, camera use, or current screen sharing.
  • Shows people who have not yet been admitted.
  • Lets hosts and co-hosts admit individually or in batches.
  • Makes it easier to pause entry until the meeting is ready.
  • Keep lobby enabled for public or guest-heavy meetings.
  • Keep the People panel visible at the start of the meeting when admissions are expected.
  • Promote a second moderator in large meetings so one person can focus on admissions while the other runs the discussion.

A participant says they are waiting but the host cannot see them

  • Confirm the participant joined the correct meeting link or workspace.
  • Refresh the People panel or reopen it if the UI looks stale.
  • Check whether the meeting is restricted in a way that blocks the participant before the waiting room stage.
